Oh Wow! I say we make this an international event — what a great way to spend a few hours every now and then! Dontcha think the world would be a better place if everyone participated in this passtime?

I was wondering the same thing. I’m even wondering what country. It has a Canadian and even European feel. That or the deep south.
There is a vodafone sign. Vodafone is big in Europe.
But the cops are coming off kinda stateside.

I googled “free hugs” “juan mann” and found a few links, included his deleted LiveJournal. But you can view Google’s cached version.

It’s very hopeful. After a while, he won’t even need the sign. After that people will be lining up for hugs.
